Direct Deposit Fraud Reminder

Attention PayData Clients
There has been a recent increase in e-mail hacking and phishing scams.
If you receive an electronic request to change your employees’ direct deposit account number, PLEASE contact them to make sure the request came from them.
Also, we recommend always prenoting a new account number added to direct deposit. A prenote transaction gets sent to the bank to make sure that the provided employee account information is valid prior to setting up the direct deposit for live transfers of the employee’s pay. This gives the employer and employee a chance to see if there were any errors with the direct deposit information. After the prenote period has passed, the direct deposit will take place.
